Call to Action: Join Us in Transforming Maternal Healthcare

    • Every dollar counts in ensuring that mothers and babies have safe, loving, and dignified birth experiences.

    • Ways to Give: One-time donations, monthly giving, corporate sponsorships, naming opportunities, and in-kind donations.

    • Get Involved: Attend our events, spread the word, and help us grow our community of supporters.

Long-Term Vision: A Lasting Legacy

    • Expanding Services: With funding, we aim to increase our reach, offering mobile clinics in remote villages.

    • Building a Surgery Center: A surgical unit will allow us to safely attend births with women who have had prior C-sections, and it will eliminate the need to transfer to an appropriate facility when the rare birth emergency emerges and a surgical birth is necessary.

    • Creating a Midwifery Training Program: Investing in local midwives ensures sustainability and community ownership.

    • Research and Advocacy: By collecting data and working with policymakers, we can improve maternal health policies in Mexico.

The Urgent Need for Maternal Healthcare in Costalegre

    • Limited Access to Quality Care: Many women in this region lack access to safe, evidence-based maternal healthcare. The nearest hospitals are often far away, and local clinics may be understaffed or under-equipped.

    • Poor Birth Outcomes: In rural Mexico, maternal and infant mortality rates are disproportionately high due to inadequate prenatal care, lack of skilled birth attendants, and delayed emergency care. Also, the rate of Cesarean births is unacceptably high in this region. The World Health Organization has determined that a surgical birth rate of 10-15% is optimal; in Mexico, the rate is 50%, and in this region, we believe it is even higher.

    • Health Inequities: Indigenous and low-income women are at the highest risk for poor outcomes. Many cannot afford private hospital births or face discrimination in the healthcare system.

The Midwifery Model as a Solution

    • Evidence-Based Care: Midwifery-led birth centers have been shown to reduce unnecessary interventions, lower C-section rates, and improve overall maternal and neonatal outcomes.

    • Personalized, Culturally Respectful Support: Women receive continuous care from known providers, increasing trust and improving health outcomes.

    • Cost-Effective and Sustainable: Compared to hospital births, midwifery care is significantly less expensive while achieving equal or better outcomes.
